The patented PterodacTILE tile remover is the answer to many of the difficulties encountered when removing flue tiles that aren't mortared to the chimney walls. The design allows lifting tile and large debris out of a chimney. This makes it easier to remove tile pieces from the top rather than breaking them into smaller pieces and fighting them through a thimble or fireplace damper and hauling out pieces in buckets. The T1, which is the Large PterodacTILE, has a rugged longer striking jaw that smashes the mortar surrounding tile, allowing you to get a grip on the tile. It weighs nearly ten pounds. There's a winch point for extra heavy lifts. It has a universal joint to allow flexibility and ease of use with a 500 pound lifting capacity. Use to remove tiles that have minimal mortar slush OR to remove large pieces of tiles, blocking, etc. An indispensable tool for those who break lots of tiles. ButtonLok double connector works with existing ButtonLok rods or ButtonLok II (#7540D 3/4" solid co-polymer ButtonLok II rod x 4' long recommended). Extremely tough jaw material grips top of tiles and closes easily to grip tiles, blocking, bricks, etc. Replaceable urethane coated jaws. Extended hardened striking jaw is used to remove mortar around tiles to allow tool to grip it. Winch point on the top of inner handle allows connection to help lift tiles and disconnect rods. A HeatShield or similar ratcheting winch works well for this. Use in concert with smaller T2 Mini-PterodacTILE to get two connections onto tougher-to-remove or heavier tiles. Breaking the bond to the next tile is easiest with both the T1V2 and T2 on the tile and "rocking" it. **New adjustable slide jaw allows picking of objects up to 4" thick.
